Marcia is a Nationally Certified Music Teacher who began her formal
musical training in Brooklyn Center,
Minnesota, at the age of 12. She
earned two degrees in Music Education and Piano Performance, graduating with
honors from Pillsbury Baptist Bible
College in Owatonna, MN.
She studied German as a minor in college and spent two summers serving as a
student missionary in Bad Tölz and Munich,
Germany. In addition to piano performance and education, her experience includes
twelve years of classroom teaching in elementary and secondary music, choir,
band, orchestra, music theory, and music history. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Music Teachers
Association as the Vice President of Piano Contests for the state. In addition
to MMTA she is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the
National Guild of Piano Teachers. She has given presentations on Motivation at
the Minnesota MTA State Convention and continues to judge for piano contests
and exams through MMTA, as well as serving as a judge for National Piano Guild
auditions.
