Marcia Vahl, NCTM
* Marcia Vahl is a Nationally
Certified Teacher of Music through Music Teachers National Association She obtained these
credentials after completing rigorous testing in June 2006.
* Versatile in teaching
beginning, intermediate, and advanced students 35 years of experience in
teaching all ages from preschool through adults on beginning through advanced
levels. The "Wall of Fame" in the studio includes photos of 11
students Marcia has mentored through their senior year in high school.
She is skilled in relating well to students of all ages.
* Education. Mrs. Vahl holds a two
degrees; one in Piano Performance and a second degree in Music Education from
Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. She studied German as a minor in college and
spent two summers serving as a student missionary in Bad Tolz and Munich,
Germany.
* Experienced. In addition to piano
performance and education her experience includes twelve years of classroom
teaching in elementary and secondary music, choir, band, orchestra, music
theory, and music history.
* Serving. Marcia actively serves the
Minnesota Music Teachers Association as the Vice President of Piano Contests,
Technology Chair, Co-Chair of the Judge Education and Certification Committee,
and mentor to new members of MMTA. She has given presentations on Motivation,
Building A Website for Piano Teachers in the 2009 MMTA Studio Management and
Business Seminar, and serves as a judge for piano contests exams through MMTA,
National Piano Guild, and Federation.
