Vahl is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music who began her formal musical
training in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota
at the age of 12. Mrs. Vahl has been a music teacher since 1975 both in
the classroom as a choir, band, and orchestra teacher, and in her private studio from
beginning through advanced levels. Versatile.
The "Wall of Fame" in the studio includes photos of 9 students she
has mentored through their senior year in high school, many of them going on
to major or minor in music in college. She is also skilled in teaching
preschool and elementary students through the beginning stages of
learning. Educated. Mrs.
Vahl holds a two Bachelors degrees; a BA in Piano Performance and a BS in
Music Education from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. She studied German as a
minor in college and spent two summers serving as a student missionary in Bad
Tolz and Munich, Germany. Experienced.
In addition to piano performance and education her experience includes twelve
years of classroom teaching in elementary and secondary music choir band orchestra
music theory and music history. Serving.
She serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Music Teachers
Association as the Vice President of Piano Contests for the state and also as
Technology Chair. In addition to MMTA she is a member of the Music Teachers
National Association and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. She has given
presentations on Motivation at the Minnesota MTA State Convention, on Building
A Website for Piano Teachers in the 2009 MMTA Studio Management and Business
Seminar, and
continues to judge for piano contests and piano exams through MMTA, National Piano Guild, and Federation.
